Our beloved Uncle Joe, head tour guide and residen

Our beloved Uncle Joe, head tour guide and resident archaeologist at @uptoncressetthall would have been 70 today. He tragically died, aged just 69, in December 2025 and is greatly missed by all friends of upton cressett and his family. The ancient Upton Cressett - since his early 20s- was the love of his life and he was reborn here in his final years as a great tour guide and chief mower where he spent hours every day on his beloved Stihl mower. After years of depression and mental health issues , he found happiness here and we placed some flowers in his grave today in the church yard of St Michael’s Upton Cressett where he mowed the grass like a croquet lawn.The Knight of the Stihl will not be forgotten

Mother's Day lunch today - @lauracathcartmillinery and my mother Biddy did well this year as we celebrated Mother's Day last Sunday as well thinking it was 'Mothering Sunday' as it used to be called. Laura called her mother who was also oblivious to the actual date ! #mothersdayreal

Spring has come to Shropshire ! Sun is out and Rex

Spring has come to Shropshire ! Sun is out and Rex is wearing his early season cricket 🏏 whites for a visit to Wenlock Priory - about 4 miles away - which is my favourite local picnic spot. The Cluniac monastery used to be one of the biggest in England and the pubs in the high street used to be medieval pilgrim hostels - visiting to see the relics of St Milburga, a Midlands princess who was the abbey's second abbess. Wenlock Priory is open at weekends in March (10am to 4pm) until their 2025 summer season start . #englishheritage #wenlockpriory #abbeyruins

The snow drops are now out at the @uptoncressetthall Norman church of St Michael's whose grass was so lovingly mown and looked after by my late uncle Jonathan. We had a family toast and graveside prayer to him (photo 2) on 22nd Feb which would have been his 69th birthday. Delighted 🤩 for @lauracathcartmillinery to be teaming up again with top British designer @emiliawickstead for her triumph of a show this afternoon at London Fashion Week at @saatchi_gallery in Chelsea. Laura has been locked away in her studio @uptoncressetthall for the last month creating the sensational hats that were designed by Emilia and her team to launch her new AW 25 collection which is inspired by the 1963 Hitchcock 🎥 The Birds - only not its director but rather the film's iconic costume designer Edith Head, actress Tippi Hedren and author Daphne du Mauirer.
